After 30 years of pouring some of the Bay’s most beloved brews, Moylan’s is calling last call. The farewell bash on May 4 was a bittersweet tribute, but locals will be telling Moylan’s stories for years. Owner-brewer Brendan Moylan details the reasons for closing after 30 years in business. “You know, the beer business has changed — there’s oversaturation — and our younger clientele is doing things differently now,” he said. “Moylan’s is a big place, we have a lot of overhead. We need a lot of business to keep it rolling in the right direction and it’s just too difficult to do that anymore.” We salute the legends behind the pints.
